Respect for the gods is essential for survival.
There is moral justice in the world in that wrongdoing is eventually punished.
Self-control or the ability to restrain one's emotions and appetites is an essential quality in a civilized person.
A person must show courage and cleverness to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
