Review Vocabulary Words #61-95 and complete flashcards. The flashcards are optional.

Highlight the vocabulary words that you do not understand; I will address your concerns during the class period.
Homework
Read "The Open Window" and complete a literary review.
Wednesday

Homework
Write concerns that you have about the plot and/or literary devices and techniques for all of the short stories.
Thursday
short story concerns
the writing process - (Brainstorm things in which you believe and reread at least one of the "I Believe" essays in the handout that I issued during the first week of school.)
Homework
Check to make certain that you have the "Form Rules for Writing Compositions" in your notebook.

Vocabulary Quiz #4
Homework
Study plot and literary techniques for all of the short stories; there are five of them.
Reminders
Keep the "Form Rules for Writing Compositions" in your notebook daily.

Major Test #1 (The Short Story Unit) will be given on Monday, September 26, 2011.
